CONNECTMASTER PTY LTD · ACN 681 371 184 · ABN 46 681 371 184
Version 1.0. In effect from 25 September 2026.
These terms are a contract between you and us. Please read clause 6 before you post a job and clause 8 before you rely on anything shown on another user's profile. Those two are the ones people are most often surprised by.
These terms are between you and CONNECTMASTER PTY LTD (ACN 681 371 184, ABN 46 681 371 184), a company registered in Australia with its registered office at Unit 1, 6 Maunder Street, Slacks Creek QLD 4127. We are referred to below as "ConnectMaster", "we" and "us".
ConnectMaster is available in Australia and in Nigeria. In both countries the platform is currently provided by CONNECTMASTER PTY LTD, and these terms apply to you wherever you are. If we later establish a separate company to operate ConnectMaster in Nigeria, we will tell Nigerian users before that happens and a separate document will apply to them from that date.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. We record the date and time you agreed and the version of this document you agreed to. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under a law that cannot be contracted out of, including the Australian Consumer Law, and including the law of the country you live in.
ConnectMaster is a noticeboard and introduction service. Contractors post jobs. Tradies bid on them. Contractors award the work.
We are not a party to any agreement you make through this platform. When a contractor awards a job to a tradie, the resulting contract is between those two people, on whatever terms they agree. We are not a party to it, we do not enforce it, and we do not guarantee it.
ConnectMaster does not:
Payment between users is entirely between those users. We do not take that payment, hold those funds, charge a commission on it, or keep a record of what is owed. Whatever you agree about price, timing and invoicing is yours to agree and yours to enforce. This is a permanent design position, not a temporary one. The only money ConnectMaster ever receives from you is the subscription in clause 7.
You may use ConnectMaster only if you:
- Are at least 18 years old - Are carrying on a business, or intend to - Hold every licence, registration and insurance the law requires for the work you perform or engage others to perform - Provide accurate information about yourself and your business
You must not create an account for anyone else, share your login, or run more than one account for the same business without telling us.
- Hold your licences. You must hold every trade licence, registration and permit the law requires where the work is performed, and keep them current. In Australia, trade licensing is administered by each state and territory, not nationally - Hold your insurance. Public liability at a minimum, and workers compensation where the law requires it - Tell the truth in your profile. Your trades, experience, licences and insurances must be accurate. Uploading a document that is not yours, that has expired, or that belongs to another business is a serious breach of these terms and will end your account - Bid honestly. Only bid on work you can actually do, in the timeframe you state - Honour an awarded bid. Once a contractor awards your bid you may not withdraw it through the platform. If you cannot proceed, tell the contractor directly and promptly - Do the work properly, to the standard the law and your trade require
- Post real jobs. A job you have no intention of proceeding with wastes the time of every tradie who prices it - Describe the work honestly. Scope, access, timing and budget as you actually understand them - Award in good faith. You are never obliged to award a job. But you must not use bids purely to obtain free pricing that you then take elsewhere - Pay what you agreed. Payment is between you and the tradie - Satisfy yourself about the tradie before you engage them. See clause 8
Read this before you post a job.
When you post a job, it becomes visible to anyone on the internet, whether or not they have a ConnectMaster account, and it may be indexed by search engines such as Google.
These sixteen fields, and only these:
| Published | | |---|---| | The job title | The trade | | The first 240 characters of your description on the listing page, and the full description on the job's own page | The suburb | | The region, state or territory | The country | | The currency | Whether the budget is open | | The minimum budget | The maximum budget | | Your preferred start date | The expected duration in days | | When bidding closes | Whether the job is open or completed | | When it was posted | The job's internal identifier |
- Your name, your business name and your contact details. A person without an account cannot tell who posted the job - Your site access notes. Gate codes, key locations, dog warnings and anything else you write in that field stay private - Every document and drawing you upload. None of them leave the database - Every bid, and every bid amount - Every message
This is enforced in the database itself, by a function that lists the published fields one by one. A field that is not on that list cannot be published by accident, including a field added to the software next year.
- Write the description as though a competitor will read it, because one might. Put anything you would not want made public into the site access notes field, or into an attached document. Both stay private - A job stays published while it is open, and after it is completed - Jobs that are cancelled, deleted or suspended are not published - If you ask us to unpublish a job, we will remove it from the public listing promptly. We will also ask search engines to remove their copy. We cannot guarantee how quickly a search engine acts, and we cannot control a copy somebody else has already taken. We will not promise you otherwise
You are shown a plain-language version of this notice on the posting form, before the job is submitted, and you must acknowledge it to post.
Some features require a paid subscription. Which features, and which users, is shown in the app before you are asked to pay.
The price for your country is shown to you before you are asked to pay, and it is the price for the whole period you are buying. We cannot change the price of a period you have already paid for. If we change the price, the new price applies only to a subscription you buy after the change.
- We never see or store your card number. Payment is taken on a page hosted by our payment provider. We receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded, and the dates it covers - A subscription runs for the period shown and then stops. We do not charge you again automatically. If you want to continue, you buy another period. We would rather lose a renewal than take money from somebody who has forgotten we exist - We will send you a reminder before your subscription expires. That reminder is part of operating your account and you cannot turn it off
- You may cancel within 14 days of paying and get all of your money back, for any reason or no reason. Ask us at support@connectmaster.au - After 14 days, the subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for - If we close or suspend your account for our own convenience, we will refund the unused part of your subscription, calculated to the day. See clause 15 - If we close your account because you breached these terms, we do not refund the unused part - These refund rights are in addition to, and do not replace, any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law. See clause 17
Your account stays open and your history stays intact. The features behind the subscription stop working until you buy another period. We do not delete anything because you stopped paying.
A tradie's profile may show that a licence has been listed on a public register, with the name of that register and the date we looked.
That statement means one thing only: on the date shown, we searched the named register for the business number on that profile, the register returned a licence, and the register showed that licence as current.
It does not mean:
- That the person using the account is the person the licence belongs to - That the licence covers the particular work being bid on, unless the profile says which trade the licence matches - That the licence is still current today, beyond our removing the statement when a recorded expiry date passes - Anything at all about the quality, competence, conduct or solvency of that tradie - That we recommend them, endorse them, or have formed any view about them
We do not describe any user as verified, licensed, approved, vetted or trusted, and we never will. Those words are conclusions about a person. We report what a register said on a date. That is the whole of what we know, and we are not willing to say more than we know.
Where a tradie has not been matched on a register, we say so plainly and we explain why. An unmatched tradie is not a suspect tradie. Many trades are not licensed at all, and many registers cannot be searched by business number.
You must satisfy yourself about any tradie before engaging them. Ask for their licence and their certificate of currency directly, and check the licence number against the relevant state or territory register yourself. What we show you is a starting point, not a substitute for your own enquiries.
If you hold an account as a tradie, the following details of each licence, insurance and certification you upload are shown on your profile to any signed-in user:
The document itself is never shown to another user. A scanned licence carries a full name, an address and a signature. Only ConnectMaster staff reviewing it can open it.
We do not collect insurance policy numbers. A contractor who needs one should ask the tradie directly.
These details are shown to signed-in users only. They are not part of the public listing in clause 6. A person without an account cannot see any of it.
You are told this on the screen where you upload, before you upload. Uploading a document is your agreement that these details may be shown as described.
This clause matters more than its length suggests.
- A tradie's bid amount is visible only to that tradie, the contractor who posted the job, and ConnectMaster staff where necessary - No bid amount appears in the public listing in clause 6 - If you are a contractor, you must not disclose a bid amount to any other tradie, or use one tradie's price to negotiate with another - If you are a tradie, you must not attempt to obtain another tradie's bid by any means
Breaching this ends your account. It also does real damage to every other user, which is why we treat it as seriously as we do.
- You may review the other party only on a job marked complete, and only once - Neither review is published until both parties have submitted, or 14 days have passed. This exists to stop retaliatory ratings - Reviews must be about the job, and not about race, sex, religion, nationality, or anything else irrelevant to the work - We may hide a review that breaches these terms. We will never edit one. If a review is hidden, the reason is recorded, and we will tell the person who wrote it. A reputation system whose operator rewrites the entries is worthless - You may ask us to look at a review you believe breaches these terms. We may hide it, leave it, or ask both parties for more information. We are not obliged to remove a review simply because it is unflattering
A private conversation opens when a bid is awarded, and only then, and only between those two parties. A second, separate thread opens if a dispute is raised. See clause 13.
You must not use it to harass, threaten or abuse anybody, to send anything unlawful, or to send anything you would not want read out later. We may read a conversation where a dispute is raised, where a message is reported to us, or where we are required by law to.
We do not prohibit it, and we could not enforce a prohibition if we tried. We charge for access, not for the transaction, so we have no commercial interest in where the work is agreed. But note:
- A job arranged off the platform has no record here. No bid, no messages, no ratings, and nothing for either of you to point at later - Our dispute process is not available for it
Either party to an awarded job may raise a dispute. A thread opens that includes ConnectMaster staff. Both of you are told, both of you can read what was raised, and both of you can add to that thread. Only one dispute can be open on a job at a time.
What we will do: read what both parties say, look at the job record, the bids and the messages, and record an outcome.
When we record an outcome the thread closes and stops taking replies. Everything said stays on the job and both of you keep access to it. If something new happens, raise a fresh dispute.
What we will not do: decide who is legally right, award compensation, enforce any outcome, act as an arbitrator, or involve ourselves in any question of money owed between you. We have no power to make either of you do anything, we hold no funds, and we are not qualified to tell you what the law requires.
We will step out entirely where a dispute involves an allegation of defective work causing loss, injury to any person, or unlicensed or uninsured work. In those cases we will tell both parties to get their own advice, and we may suspend either account while that happens.
Our involvement does not affect your legal rights against the other party, and using our dispute process does not stop you pursuing them, or stop time running on any claim you have.
You keep ownership of what you upload: job scopes, drawings, photographs, bid documents, licence images and profile text.
You give us permission to store it, to display it to the users who are meant to see it, to publish the parts listed in clause 6, and to process it in order to run the platform. Nothing more. We do not licence your content to anybody else, and we do not use it to advertise.
This permission lasts while your content is on the platform, and it continues for material that has already been published under clause 6 and copied by a third party, because we cannot recall a copy we never held. It ends for everything else when you delete the content or close your account.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload documents belonging to someone else, drawings you are not permitted to distribute, or photographs of work that is not yours.
You may close your account at any time, from Settings. Some information survives: a job you performed remains on the other party's record, and published reviews stay published, because deleting them would rewrite the other party's history. See the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and when.
We may suspend or close your account where:
We will tell you why, and we will tell you before we act, unless the breach is serious enough that waiting would cause harm to another user, or unless the law prevents us. If we suspend your account you may ask us to review that decision, and a person will look at it.
We may also close your account for our own convenience, for example if we stop operating in your country. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days notice and refund the unused part of your subscription, calculated to the day.
A suspended or closed account's jobs stop being published. See clause 6.
We will try to keep the platform running. We do not promise that it will always be available, or that it will be free of faults. It may be down for maintenance, and it may be down unexpectedly. Do not rely on it for anything time critical.
Nothing in this clause limits the consumer guarantees described in clause 17.
Read the first paragraph before the rest.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or under any other law that cannot be excluded. If anything in these terms would have that effect, it does not apply to that extent. In particular, where the Australian Consumer Law applies, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, including that they will be supplied with due care and skill and within a reasonable time.
Subject to that:
Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and permits us to limit our liability, our liability for failing to comply with a consumer guarantee in relation to services is limited, at our choice, to supplying those services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again. This is the limitation section 64A of the Australian Consumer Law expressly permits for services that are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption. It does not apply where the law does not allow it.
For everything else, and only to the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any user, including defective work, non-payment, non-attendance, or anything said between users - We are not liable for loss arising out of a job introduced through the platform, or out of any contract you make with another user - We are not liable for loss you could have avoided by taking reasonable steps, including the steps clause 8 tells you to take - Our total liability to you for all other claims, taken together, is limited to the greater of A$1,000 and the subscription fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim
We do not exclude liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude.
We may change these terms, and we will publish the new version with a new version number and a date.
If a change materially affects you, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email and in the app. A change materially affects you if it reduces what we provide, increases what you pay, increases your obligations, or reduces your rights or remedies.
If you do not accept a material change, you may close your account before it takes effect and we will refund the unused part of your subscription, calculated to the day. Continuing to use ConnectMaster after a material change takes effect means you accept it.
Changes that do not materially affect you, such as correcting an error, clarifying wording, or describing a new feature you are free to ignore, take effect when we publish them.
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland and the courts that hear appeals from them have jurisdiction. Queensland is where the company is registered.
This does not take away any right you have under the law of the place you live. Australian consumer law is national, so an Australian user is in the same position wherever they are. If you live outside Australia and the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be contracted out of, you keep them, and you may bring a claim in your local courts if that law allows it.
